It goes without saying that we all love our dogs and would do anything to make sure that they are happy and healthy.
One of the very best things that you can do to ensure that you are doing the best for your dog is to take a canine first aid course. These courses equip you with the skills to know how to keep your dog safe and healthy and also the knowledge to recognise signs that they are unwell. The course will cover things such as different ailments, how to recognise the first signs and what to do.
One of the ailments that are covered is heatstroke and this is very common during hot weather and can very quickly be fatal. You are also taught what to do in an emergency, first aid and bandaging techniques, how to perform a regular health check on your dog and also canine CPR. It was also quite interesting to find out what seemingly harmless food is in fact poisonous to dogs. Obviously these first aid courses are not meant to replace a trip to the vet. However I would strongly recommend every dog owner enrolling onto a canine first aid course.
